Ibiza Tourism Board

Empowering the travel trade to sell the latest experiences, hotels, venues, and attractions in Ibiza.

The Brief

The PC Agency offers knowledge and expertise in trade representation and event management. The team was appointed to plan and coordinate an exclusive and intimate travel trade and media event in Glasgow on behalf of the Ibiza Tourism Board.

The aim of the event was to effectively educate regional trade and media by hosting a fun and informative event showcasing the destination’s developments for 2019, notably new hotel openings, including Six Senses Hotel, and new experiential packages and tours from wellness to wine tasting.

Hosting this event in February ensured that Ibiza was front-of-mind for Scotland’s leading travel agents and tour operators during the peak sales period.

Our Approach

We spent several days researching the perfect venue for the evening.

Leveraging our vast databases, we designed an event invitation and started to invite travel agents, operators, media and influencers in Glasgow, Edinburgh and the surrounding area. As this was the first time that they had targeted Scotland, it was vital for the tourism board to build up new contacts in the city, signalling a new regional focus for the destination.

We also utilised trade-facing social media pages and contacts at regional trade publications to extend the reach of the event.

Ensuring that the event would be genuinely helpful with compelling educational content designed to help the trade ‘sell Ibiza’ was key. We worked with the Director of Tourism for Ibiza on his presentation, which included a new destination video and information about all year-round cultural and sports events, weddings, family experiences, new hotel openings, and the island’s new sustainable tourism tax.

Two senior members of the PC Agency team were in attendance. Maximising networking opportunities with event attendees is where we excel – we know how to put people at ease and create the right environment for asking questions.

The event began with a networking reception, followed by the presentation and a prize draw to win two flights and a luxury hotel stay in Ibiza.

Business Impact

We organised and hosted a successful evening event with more than 30 key trade and media in attendance.

The PC Agency provided a full end-to-end service, including facilitating introductions for future press or trade enquiries, supplying images to travel trade press and the tourism board for promotion across their social channels and in print, and delivered a comprehensive post-event report for the tourism board.
