The Idle Rocks and St Mawes Hotel in Cornwall appoints The PC Agency as its PR partner

We’re thrilled to announce our new appointment as global PR representative for The Idle Rocks and St Mawes Hotel, both located on the beautiful Roseland Peninsula in the South of Cornwall.

The PC Agency will be working alongside David and Karen Richards to drive the hotels’ PR strategy and media relations across the UK, US and internationally.

Perched perfectly on the rocks overlooking St Mawes’ harbour, The Idle Rocks, a Relais & Châteaux hotel, is a home away from home. The property is a boutique haven featuring 19 individually designed suites and beautiful lounge spaces for guests to relax in, showcasing understated elegance and seaside tranquillity in the utmost comfort and luxury.

Immersed in the serenity of its surroundings, the hotel looks out across the crystal blue, clear waters of the harbour and the Fal Estuary beyond.

Currently undergoing a refurbishment, The Idle Rocks will invite guests for a truly restorative break from the end of March when the hotel re-opens with a brand-new, innovative restaurant concept.

Led by the acclaimed Executive Chef Stuart Shaw, The Reef Knot Restaurant at The Idle Rocks will feature daily caught fish, local, seasonal produce and home-grown vegetables combined with an award-winning wine list, as well as an enticing cocktail menu.

The Idle Rocks’ sister property, the St Mawes Hotel is an idyllic bolthole by the sea just along the harbour and moments away from The Idle Rocks itself. Offering boutique accommodation, the freshest seasonal food, delightful drinks and a typically-Cornish, warm, welcoming environment, the St Mawes Hotel is home to seven unique bedrooms, expertly designed by Karen Richards to reflect the beauty of the hotel’s surroundings and charm.

The Bar & Restaurant, the hub of the hotel, boasts authentic Cornish dishes that incorporate delicious produce from air and land and infamous pizzas within a relaxed, informal setting.

The space features a line-up of weekly musical acts, perfect for guests and residents to enjoy throughout the day and night. The St Mawes Hotel also includes The Courtyard, a stylish space ideal for hosting a small intimate party or large celebration.

Catering for up to 80 guests, the room features large glass doors that open onto an alfresco courtyard adorned with lavender and olive trees and has a high-quality AV system, as well as a marriage licence for weddings. Alongside this, The Hidden Cinema is a state-of-the-art screening room that offers guests a memorable cinema experience showing a mixture of mainstream, independent, sporting events and special screenings throughout the week.

Also available for private hire, The Hidden Cinema has 25 luxurious, spacious chairs and guests can enjoy a choice of refreshments including ice cream, freshly made popcorn and a fully serviced bar.

Coastal chic undoubtedly meets unrivalled elegance and luxury at The Idle Rocks and St Mawes Hotel. Karen Richards has lovingly designed each hotel with a sensitive design ethos inspired by their surroundings so as to reflect a warm and inviting home-away-from-home look and feel.

Karen’s own creative flair is featured throughout with each of the hotels showcasing a vibrant art collection from established or up-and-coming Cornish artists, including David Pearce, a combination of colours and fabrics, as well as antiques peppered within the rooms and communal areas, evoking that friendly feel and charm.

Cosy corners next to windows looking out towards the Fal Estuary, as well as comfortable chairs by the fire, add to Karen’s laid back yet refined Cornwall aesthetic.

Karen Richards, Owner of The Idle Rocks and St Mawes Hotel, comments: “We are delighted to be working with The PC Agency to further raise the profile of The Idle Rocks and St Mawes Hotel to showcase the wonderfully unique elements of our hotels.
