The ultimate James Bond Experience
Top of the piste for James Bond fanatics, the opening of the new 007 Elements museum in Sölden, a helicopter ride over the official shooting locations of Spectre, and a stay at the lavish 5* Das Central Hotel offers the ultimate ski escape. New for 2018-19 ski season, the museum intrigues visitors with its tunnel entrance, before opening up to a series of high-tech interactive galleries. With incredible glacial skiing, long ski trails and mountain restaurants, Sölden, in the Ötztal Valley is the perfect place for a week on the slopes. After a day channelling their inner 007, guests can head back to Das Central Hotel to relax in the Venezia Spa, dine in the underground fondue chalet or sip a vodka martini, shaken not stirred.

Opening of the highest hotel in the French Alps
Part-opening in December 2018, Le Refuge de Solaise in Val d’Isère is set to become the highest hotel in the French Alps, at an astonishing 2,551m. Due to its incredible elevation not only does it have spectacular views, and guaranteed fresh tracks, but it also receives five hours more sunlight than any other property in the resort. The hotel will first open its exclusive penthouse offering panoramic dining and space for up to 24 people. Only accessible by the new Solaise gondola, once the lifts shut guests will be truly immersed in their own winter paradise.
How: Ski Solutions offers seven nights at Le Refuge de Solaise from £20,450 for the whole penthouse, which sleeps 24. The trip includes flights and private transfers and is based on the full penthouse being booked.
La Rosière opens new ski area
In December 2018, La Rosière will unveil a new ski area, Mont Valaisan. Offering more advanced, technical skiing with five new red runs, it will boost the resort’s elevation to 2,800m. What’s more, two new six-seater lifts will provide much easier access to some incredible off-piste terrain – perfect for the powder hounds. Hyatt Centric, which opened in 2017, is a brilliant base for exploring the new terrain. Located slope-side, after a day charging around the mountains, guests can return for a dip in the swimming pool or steam in the outdoor hot-tub and delicious meal in one of the onsite restaurants.

A weekend in Courmayeur at the new Hotel Le Massif
Opening in December 2018, Hotel Le Massif in Courmayeur with its enviable ski-in ski-out location, in-house ski concierge and ski-valet service, is the ideal destination for a ski weekend. The hotel boasts three restaurants, including La Loge du Massif, which sits directly on the piste, and three terraces with incredible panoramic views over Mont Blanc and the surrounding glaciers making it the perfect setting for après-ski drinks. With pretty cobbled streets, boutiques, delicatessen and bars, Courmayeur is a lovely place to explore when not relaxing at the hotel or out on the mountain.

Courchevel launches a new wellness and ski pass
For families heading to Courchevel this winter, the new Three Valleys Wellness pass provides two entrances to Aquamotion included in a six-day plus ski pass. Aquamotion, the largest European water park in the mountains, raises the stakes for family après-ski with its indoor and outdoor pools, water slide, a wave pool, children’s play area and the wellness area for adults with large sauna and steam room. Located at the exit of Courchevel Village and below Courchevel Moriond, it’s easily accessible from the Courchevel resorts.
