Finnair is pleased to announce that their flagship long haul aircraft, the Airbus A350 XWB will operate a daily service between London Heathrow and Helsinki replacing the current Airbus A320 aircraft on the route.

From 27th March 2017 passengers travelling on flights AY832 between London and Helsinki and AY831 between Helsinki and London will be able to enjoy long haul levels of comfort and space on board the world’s most modern commercial aircraft throughout the short flight of 2 hours and 55 minutes.

The A350’s bright and spacious cabin features large panoramic view windows and comfortable seating arrangements in both cabin classes. All Finnair A350s are equipped with Wi-Fi for greater passenger enjoyment and connectivity.

The on board Wi-Fi portal, which can be accessed with passengers' own devices, providing complimentary access to and Finnair services such as destination information, customer care and pre-order shopping. Full internet access can be purchased via the Wi-Fi portal and is free in Business Class and for Finnair Plus Gold and Platinum members and oneworld Sapphire and Emerald members.

The 297-seat configuration includes 46 seats in Business Class in a 1+2+1 layout, ensuring direct aisle access for all Business Class passengers. The Zodiac Cirrus III seats convert to fully flat beds, while a 16-inch touch-screen inflight entertainment system comes programmed with films, TV shows, music and other digital content on demand in numerous languages. Seats in Business Class also come equipped with AC and USB power outlets.

The Economy Class cabin features comfortable Zodiac Z300 slim-line seats with a 31-inch seat pitch in a 3+3+3 layout. At the front of the Economy Class cabin are 43 Economy Comfort seats, which come with four extra inches of leg room as well as noise-cancelling headphones and an amenity kit on long haul flights. All seats in Economy include an 11-inch touch screen inflight entertainment system and USB power outlets.

Customers can determine the planned aircraft type of their flight by clicking on the flight number during the online booking process at, or by consulting with their travel agent.

Destinations served by the Airbus A350XWB include London Heathrow, Bangkok, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Beijing, Seoul, Singapore and from 4th June 2017 Tokyo Narita.

In line with its growth strategy, Finnair recently announced that it will also fly two weekly flights to Goa between 29 November 2017 and 21 March 2018, with flights being operated from Helsinki on Wednesdays and Sundays with an A330 aircraft. In addition Finnair will also be adding two new frequencies to its Singapore route, making it a daily destination year-round, and three additional weekly frequencies to Hong Kong, making it a 10-weekly operation year-round.

Finnair also operates flights from Manchester, Dublin and Edinburgh (service recommences from 26th March) direct to Helsinki providing seamless quick and efficient transfers to 17 cities across Asia.
